Could it be some sort of network cabling bracket?
Its an odd thing to have on the side of you house - have you ever used it for anything zippy? Or has it been purely ornamental these last 10 years0 -

given wood for firewood. = free
hinges off old door =free
frame from old door =free
screws, left overs =50p
stain, left over. but worth = £1
knobs, both sides =£3 ebay delivered
keyhole cover, about =£1 ebay delivered
the bit you cant see, lock = £7
so as you could not see the lock, ive got to give you full marks.
total £12.50
ps believe me, I tried to make good the old lock mechanism, but it looked carp.Did you give the cost of gate yesterday, I missed all this, I would say cost of hinges, and handle, which could well have been from car boot for total £2?
Why I say this is I have a pallet in my garden that is twice the width of a standard one so very long planks..... I think the wood I have got would create something similar, although I plan to use mine for more raised beds for veggies.0 -
