CPP Card Protection - Am I Entitled To Compensation?

I have been paying into a scheme over a number of years whereby CPP keep a record of all my bank cards. If any get lost or stolen I can have them cancelled and re-issued, suppposedly with a single call.
I have never needed to use the service until recently when I lost one credit card. I called CPP to report the lost card and they told me it had all been taken care of and that I should expect a replacement card soon.
Nearly a month later, after having received no new card I called my card issuer who claimed they had never received any communication from CPP either to cancel a card or issue a new one.
Thus I have submitted a complaint with CPP and await a response. I am not sure if this is the same type of card protection that is currently in the news as being mis-sold, but just wondered if anyone has had a similar experience and what sort of compensation you could expect to receive?
Thanks for any help.

As your complaint is about something different, you will probably get an inconvenience payment. Something along the lines of £50-£250.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). I cancelled my cpp policy earlier this year as I had no occasion to use it. Will I get a refund for the 3 years I paid previous to this?0

Because you didn't use it? No.0 -
No one is entitled to compensation. You need to make a complaint as see if it's upheld.
You can complain that you didn't need it, or were already covered by the T&Cs of each credit card.....Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0 -
If you are an affected customer, they'll write to you. Easiest thing to do really is wait and see if you get a letter.0

I have Policy through M&S Money which seems to be underwritten by CPP. Would I have the same cause for complaint.0

We cant tell if you have the same reasons for complaint. Only you know that.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. Under the CPP mis-sale scheme, you don't complain. If your sale has been identified as a mis-sale, you'll be written to. Although payouts won't happen until next year, the process is intended to be automatic.
This doesn't stop you complaining now though - if you feel you've been mis-sold you can make a complaint to the bank, who will investigate. If they refuse to uphold you have the option of taking it to FOS, but this could add two years onto your complaint with no guarantee of success. I'd advise against this though, and wait to see if you get a letter. Bear in mind that although they're writing to those affected from the 29th August, there's several million people who may be identified so give it a few weeks.Competition wins:
2010 - approx £450. 2011 - approx £800. 2012 - approx £300. 2013 - nothing so far!0
