I have a canon ip5200 printer one of the print heads seems to be blocked .The spray pattern is really reduced .Ive tried all the nozzle cleaning /head cleaning in the print software and nothing .I then tried cleaning with isopropyl alcohol.a little better..
Has any one got any ways of fixing this .
...I use none canon inks .So not much chance of returning under warranty(I know you will all say I deserve what I have )My excuse is ,my kids go through ink in no time with school projects and the such...I think it's more that it hasn't been used for a bout 3 weeks .

Get head cleaning cartridges available from Choice Stationery.

Have you tried blowing through the very small hole in the top of the cartridge? This in effect primes the cartridge. Some ink will come out the bottom, but you can just wipe that gently. That's what we do at work, where the fax machine uses an HP cartridge and we only get occasional faxes; so like you say, things tend to get a bit clogged.

Good luck with your printer heads. I have a Canon i950 (6 separate ink tanks) and had problems with my print head too. I tried all the tips like blowing compressed air through it but nothing worked, so I ended up spending over £100 for a new print head from Canon. The printer was originally about £250 and I am really pleased with it being so quick and so quiet, but sometimes I wonder if I should have bought a brand new cheaper printer for the same money!
