Buying a new car
Options
We are thinking of getting a new Suzuki Swift for my wife to drive
However, as cash buyers - we are thinking of moneysaving options - I know that Suzuki are currently offering VAT free deals - but we want more !!
One option being to buy from one of these "on-line" dealers
However - do we have the same 3 year warranty as buying from a local dealership ?
ie) Are warranties - from the manufacturer or from the dealership ?

Warranty is from the manufacturer, the dealership simply honours it.

Right - so there's no reason why we should not shop around the dealers for a best price - then use our local dealers for the servicing etc ?0

Op - check out the online brokers as they source from UK main dealers. Always worth trying your local dealer once you get a price as they may surprise you. Then just take it local for servicing.
I bought my new car over 60 miles away (worked out much cheaper) and I have it serviced at a main dealer 5 miles away, any warranty issues are handled by any dealer in the country.0 -

OK I have negotiated a further £600 off the VAT free price - simply by trying another main dealers !!
This brings it down to £11858 from £14949
Would it be cheeky of me to push for free floor mats and mudflaps ?0 -

Have you tried things like Drive The Deal? What if there was no such thing as a rhetorical question?0

I prefer a face to face deal! !
you may find you get a local dealer offering though.
If nothing else, it will let you know a base price. It might be that the deal you have on the table now is about as good as it can get. If they shave another £500 off though, you have room to go in and haggle further! What if there was no such thing as a rhetorical question?0
