PCP Plus ticket at hospital

Advice please. Got a ticket yesterday at the hospital. Paid only 50p to park instead of the 1.40 charge (pound coin that i inserted didnt go through and i didnt notice at the time) and got a ticket saying 50p charge is for staff only and as I wasnt showing staff permit and parked in patients spaces and not staff spaces I was fined. Nowhere does it say that you can buy staff tickets from the machine, i wasnt even aware of this. Should I just ignore it, are these tickets still not worth the paper they are prined on?

Many thanks in advance and sorry if a similar question has already been asked.

Nope you do not ignore the charge unless it is not from an AOS member (the only firms who can get your details from the DVLA), or if you are in Scotland.

And yes, the same question is effectively asked on every thread, here's a typical answer:

So sit tight and read current threads while you wait for the first letter, if this is even a firm that can buy DVLA data.

Which scumbag PPC was it (exact name, not just initials)? You call them PCP Plus in your thread title but happily, I am not seeing them on the AOS members' list, can you spot them or the Hospital themselves listed?

If not then they can't get DVLA data and cannot write to you unless you are silly enough to write and identify yourself! Hence why we say 'wait for the first letter'.

Read any threads on page one/two of the forum and also search for the thread a few pages back about 'First Point Solutions' by westlothian a few days ago. Similar to your case in that it's a fake PCN from a non-AOS member where there is no appeal worth taking seriously, nothing worth doing except reporting them for any illegal claims! He started by emailing the DVLA to double-check whether his bunch of scammers could get data, the swift answer to which from the DVLA put his mind at rest.

    Thank you cp.

My mistake, it is the dreaded CP Plus who issued it. Am I right i should go down the appeal route first then on to POPLA?

Thank you for your advice, much appreciated.

    Dreaded CP Plus ? LOL

Sorry but this pathetic company has never issued a claim, loses most of the time at popla and are in fact a joke! If you find these dreadful be thankful you ain't been ticketed by Parking Eye or Civil Enforcement Ltd. they at least try small claims.
When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.
We don't need the following to help you.
Name, Address, PCN Number, Exact Date Of Incident, Date On Invoice, Reg Number, Vehicle Picture, The Time You Entered & Left Car Park, Or The Amount of Time You Overstayed.

Yep we will help if you draft a POPLA appeal, here's some reading:

And when you get the NTK in the post, make your first challenge to CP Plus pretty robust IMHO, pointing out everything they have done wrong in their timings and wording of the letters (see the link for the Parking Cowboys checklist about keeper liability). Also state that the wording of the signs and machine were flawed because 'Nowhere does it say that the ticket about to be printed was a special staff ticket from the machine; THE DRIVER wasn't even aware of this and the machine must have been at fault if money was slipping through uncredited.' (i.e. refer to 'the driver' not' 'I' or 'me' or 'my ticket').
