Switching delay with Flow Energy

Options
I applied to change my energy supplier from N power to Flow Energy on 21st May.
Electricity was registered on 19th June. but the gas registration was delayed twice and was not registered until 23rd July, some 9 weeks after application.
FE have apologised for the delay due to an error on their part.
Has anyone else had their switchover delayed?
Other issues include changing their mind over DD payment dates and stating that access to your account online was imminent several weeks ago but which has still not materialised.
One acknowledges that a company new to the game will have teething problems but my patience with them is wearing thin and this post is a warning to potential FE customers that they can expect similar problems.

Are you supplied via an IGT? This can cause some significant delays in suppliers switching you unless you keep onto them beacuse some IGTs are not on/use the same system, so it all is done manually. Usually it's a delay in the supplier (and it affects them all) getting responses put onto the computer system so the switch can progress.

Still, they got you switched eventually. :)
Unfortunately Flow are not taking on any new customers any more - they say they hope to start again next April.
  • Thank you for your reply Wywth.

I am supplied by Transco, not an IGT. So FE can't use that as an excuse.

UN-fortunately?? I don't think so. I strongly suspect their operation may be descending into a complete shambles.

History should tell you when a minnow-sized energy supplier goes on a recruitment drive with (short-term) low prices it invariably leads to chaos. We had a similar happening with Spark Energy (in fact, that led to so many customer complaints that Ofgem actually launched an investigation into the company, the result of which hasn't been announced yet).
