25000 Euros in cash in to Sterling

Hello,

I have around 25000 Euros in cash from a business I invested in. However I do not have a euro bank account.

Any advice on what the best way would be to get these converted in to sterling? Do any Forex brokers deal in cash?

Many thanks

Why not just open a EUR bank account?

You're going to have to go through AML check, proof of source of funds etc anyway no matter what you do so you might as well have a EUR account.

I use an online transfer service when I send money overseas as it's far cheaper than any bank I've found. So far I haven't had any problems over the last two years, but it takes about 3 working days to reach your account back in the UK. Setup a payment and give the payment details to the company that owes you.

Hmmmm. It won't let me post links, I'll PM you the link instead.

suggest re-read the OP; already has the cash.

It won't let you post links to stop people signing up and promoting their business. This reads a little like a promotion. Apologies if not, but forum rules say you can't.

Go to Queensway in London and exchange it at one of the bureaus there for spot rate. You need to find the right one though, it is sandwiched between two that have rates worse by 3p per euro. They don't check ID for amounts less than GBP 5000, but you'll only get the spot rate if it's the Indian guy, not the Mediterranean guy.

If you are not in the UK, you need to declare it to customs when you come through, unless you bring it over in 3 separate trips.
