You'll find that most people here HATE rafflecopters!
Because they just seem to be set up on blogs for people to get likes on their fb page and followers on twitter etc.
There is always lots to do for usually pretty small prizes.

Now some rafflecopters are ok if they just ask a question and you have to leave an answer, but when you have to like 10 fb pages, follow 20 people on twitter, sign up to email updates, post on other blogs, refer friends etc it's all just too much and people don't bother.

not to mention rafflecopter is terrible at some things.

Tweeting, pinterest, bloglovin, google+, "comment on this blog" for just a few.

thanks for the replies, much appreciated

looking at it now i see you can add all sorts of stuff like fb likes and twitter follows etc

i can see how it might turn people off, but then i suppose on the flip side, those that do put the effort it get a much better chance at winning

i might use it for one competition to see how it goes, and offer £50 good old fashioned cash as a prize

i run a website not a blog so i wont over complicate things, none of this comment, pininterest, google+ bloglovin nonsense :)

thanks for your time helping me, its really appreciated

I absolutely detest rafflecopter comps and wouldn't waste a second on one. Lots of reasons but mainly the ridiculous amount of entries, likes, shares etc you have to do what is usually tantamount to someones tat out of the back of their cupboard and are usually blogs run by women stuck at home with a small child who seem to think the rest of us are interested in their day. (That's coming from a woman with children) There are all sorts such as 60 various entries for a £2.99 bottle of wine.

Can you tell i really really hate rafflecopter??:rotfl:

Yes but you are not looking at the whole picture. Alot of people that enter effort comps wouldn't even go near rafflecopters because most effort comps have big prizes so why put in the same amount of effort into a rafflecopter to win a pair of oven gloves as you would to win a holiday or an ipad. :undecided

I don't mind them (so long as the tasks are reasonable), although I prefer just to fill in a normal form.

I quite like rafflecopters especially if there are only a few ways to enter. I bored if there are any more than 5. £50 cash is a decent prize, I think people would be more likely to enter for that than something worth £10 which a lot of the blog prizes are.

I like Rafflecopters too as long as the blogger/company is not greedy or cheeky - like asking for votes or expecting us to follow 101 companies on twitter or facebook!
:TA big thanks to all who post and sprinkling lucky dust to all who enter :smileyhea
