SCS delivery problem

Hi there,

I ordered a sofa from scs 14 weeks ago, on credit (stupidly) and in store.

I was told at the time of ordering that it would take up to 10 weeks for delivery, and that the first finance payment would be taken 2 weeks before delivery. So.... I have not heard nothing from scs, the sofa has not been delivered, a payment has not been taken from my account, and I have heard nothing from them what so ever.

Where do I stand with this, as i think it is unreasonable to be kept waiting any longer, and I am desperate to get a sofa sorted out, so I could order and pay up front in cash from another company and have a sofa delivered within a week, we have been 14 weeks without anything to sit on lol :(

Can I cancel the contract as scs have not fulfilled their obligations or am i stuck having to wait and wait for the darn thing to turn up. I have read some stories of people waiting up to 6-9 months for delivery!

  • Unless you have specifically made 'time is of the essence' part of the contract then you're going to have difficulty cancelling.

    Why do SCS try to deprive customers of their DSR rights and claim a suite is a 'bespoke/personalised' product, when it's patently not?
