Hi all,
I've just sold a car for just over the mim price (5600) however I have received a mail stating that a person will give me the asking price! This person states that they are a business (in Northern Ireland) and will pay all costs by bankers draft. They have asked for my name and address etc but so far I have not replied. Anyway moral judgements beside.......what are your opinions? Can I put off the person who bought it (he hasn't paid yet) and go with this offer?
Sorry that this sounds mean but I'm seriously in debt.

Hmm... post his message - this rings a very dodgy bell.My TV is broken!

Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j0 -
Can I clarify...do you have one buyer or two?
There is a well known scam with cars/ overseas (literally over a sea) buyers and bankers drafts (do a Google search it will make your hair curl  ) but it is difficult to make any suggestions withiout a little more info.
Warningbells should be any sense of urgency with the deal, for instance suggesting they will add extra to the draft if you will arrange for the car to be available immediately and give them the change from the draft in cash.
However, it might just be a genuine buyer who has the ability to ship cars via ferry etc and who has legitimately won your car.
What payment methods did you actually suggest?I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Sorry, I've re read your post. Assuming your 1st sale was a legitimate winner on ebay then you can't pull out of the deal now.
The overseas offer would still ring alarm bells anyway.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
