Hi. We were hoping to go away for a couple of nights (sat & sun) somewhere near the coast but are really struggling to find availability (tried all the usual booking sights ) budget not huge so just a b&b would be ideal , just for 2 adults . Wondered if anyone could help ?

'Near the coast' is a bit wide. Which coast?0

Started off looking at Scarborough but ended up searching most seaside resorts for something reasonably priced but it seems the whole of the uk is booked up unless you are willing to pay £500+ !0

Which coast?
North-West Scotland? Cape Wrath?
Or Dorset/Bournemouth?0 -
Try Whitby's Tourist Information Centre on 01723 383636 They might know of last minute availability, they might even ring round for you.
Actually that might be a central number as it comes up for Scarborough/Filey etc too. Worth a try as some small businesses don't update t'internet that often:)0 -
Find a town 15 or so miles away with good rail links if you haven't got your own transport. Then check out local tourist board websites or Travelodge or Premier Inn.
If you want to go to Scarborough I suggest you try York which at 40 odd miles is about the nearest town of any size. I checked out the Premier Inn website for two nights stay in York from Saturday to Monday and I got prices ranging from £251 to £298.

Return fare to Scarborough on the train is around £18 per person.

It would help if you said what region you want to go to, because everything is just a shot in the dark for anybody trying to help you out!0 -
if you want something quiet-try Brid or a caravan in Hornsea!"if the state cannot find within itself a place for those who peacefully refuse to worship at its temples, then it’s the state that’s become extreme".Revd Dr Giles Fraser on Radio 4 20170
