oven exterior

I have a range style cooker which is 3 years old. I have had an engineer out twice as outside of the oven and the control facia gets extremely hot, so much so that i have had to have the control knobs changed. Last visit they put on a new door seal, but that doesn't seem to be doing any good. The silver coating on the knobs is blistering and peeling, and the white plastic is clearly showing. Surely this shouldn't happen. Any advice would be welcome.

Is it a rangemaster? It's a common design fault on the rangemaster brand and they don't seem to want to know. A friend had one and had the same problem repeatedly0
