You'll receive a final bill when you submit your final meter readings, which will tell you how much you owe them or they owe you to close the account.

    Morning elliotlyla

DragonQ is spot on. Once your account switches, we'll issue a final bill with the closing balance.

Your new supplier will send us the meter readings they intend to use to open their account. We'll use the same readings to close our account. This makes sure you're only charged once for the same energy.

Best to make a note of the readings on the day of the switch too. Delays passing readings between suppliers can happen.

Any credit balance will be refunded.

Hope this is of interest elliotlyla. Let me know if you need any more info as happy to help.

Conversely, if the final bill results in you owing the supplier money, they will expect to be paid pronto IN FULL!

When I left eon, I got the threat of debt collectors calling etc, even though I had paid their bill the day it arrived. Unfortunately, their bill does not arrive until about 7-10 days after it is created. They blame the postman, but I noticed most correspondence from eon arrived this late - I think it's them late getting it into the postal system.
Anyway, those 7-10 days are short enough for them to start issuing the threats ... but of course that doesn't arrive until 7-10 days after that was created/dated, by which time I had received their bill and paid it.

If you are not in a fortunate enough position to pay the final bill immediately & IN FULL, contact the supplier without delay.
