Need help for Timeguard immersion heater timer?

Hi I just moved into a new flat from a house that uses gas for heating. Now this flat uses an immersion heater and is linked onto something called timeguard for setting a time for when I want hot water.
Here is a picture of the same one as mine:
I was wondering if anyone can tell me how to operate this thing step by step please as I have no idea and the landlord doesn't know either for some strange reason
Say for example I want hot water for when I wake up at 7am and for a shower at night at 8pm what do I do with the pins, where do I put them? Also the dial seems to turn, what do I turn it to?
Seems like a silly question but I'm pretty much running blind and any help will be great.
Thanks

You need to set the time to greenwich mean time which is an hour before british summer time (it's 7.30 now in summer time so set it to read 6.30) then you need to set it to come on just after your E7 times start maybe just after midnight and turn off just before your E7 times finish maybe about 7am. You should have enough hot water for the evening. Do you have two immersion elements? You can set the temperature of the lower one a little higher say 70 degrees and the temperature of the top one to 50 degrees and then leave the top one on all the time. The top immersion element will then only come on if you use all of your hot water up and give you just enough hot water to wash your hands, fill a a sink OR possibly have a quick 4-5 minute shower.
The inside pin is on...the outside pin is off.:footie:Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)

Thanks, I take a stab at guessing how to use this thing. Lets just assume its not summer time now
From the picture where its a 1 right at the top, I should turn the dial to between 19 and 20 (7:30pm) to where the 1 is.
I wanted hot water at 8pm so I should put the pin on the inside at 20 and put another pin on the outside at 21 or 20 and a half.
I wanted hot water at 7am so put a pin on the inside at 7 and another pin on the outside at 8.
Is this correct? Does the pin mean I will get hot water at that point in time or does it have to boil so in reality I should put the pins in probably 30mins to an hour early compared to when I want to use it in real time?
