Property adjustment order question

Hello
I'm applying for a divorce and just have a quick question, does a property adjustment order take the other persons name off the mortgage responsibility or does it just give the equity to the other person?
Thanks!

Information from Shelter here.
But no, divorce proceedings don't remove either spouse's liability to the mortgage lender.
It is possible to get an order that says (for example) that Wife must assume responsibility for the mortgage payments. But if the court proceedings were only between Husband and Wife, they don't bind the lender - and if the mortgage was joint, lender can go after Wife or Husband if Wife doesn't pay.0 -
That's what I thought, just want it all straight in my head!0
