I have just bought a NuWave 6-in-1 Multi Cooker and one of it's functions is a pressure cooker, I really want to get the hang of using it as I think it will be great for making meltingly tender curries etc which of course I can make in bulk and freeze :T
Does anyone here have one or a similar one? I am not sure if I can just plonk stuff in like a "normal" pressure cooker or if I will have to adapt a recipe. I have NEVER used a pressure cooker of any type before!:oTrying to be debt free by the end of 2016 :j0 -
I have been given a Tower 12949 pressure cooker without a manual...i've googled to find one but can't.
Anyway it is similar to one shown here
http://www.tesco.com/direct/prestige-3l-aluminium-pressure-cooker/210-3578.prd
a more modern style....I'm used to the the ones with a weight on.
My main question is....is it ready to turn down the heat when the red button pops up......or am i supposed to wait for a hissing sound?
thanks in advanceNever put off until tomorrow what you can avoid doing altogether.:D0 -

I have one, Redmond RMC-M4500 multi cooker and I'm loving it:j I used to have a simple PC before and I must say multi cooker is much more functional - mine's got 10 different programs
here's a nice recipe of chicken curry
Sprinkle chicken pieces with salt.
Using the browning function, heat the oil and brown the chicken pieces on all sides.
In a separate bowl, combine the light coconut milk, curry powder, ground turmeric and cayenne.
Pour the mixture over the chicken and add half the onions, ginger and garlic in.
Cover and cook using the slow cooker function for 4-5 hours, until the chicken is tender.
Combine cornstarch and water, stirring until smooth.
Pour into slow cooker and mix with other ingredients.
Cover and cook for 30 more minutes, until sauce has thickened.
Add lime juice and remaining onions.
Best served hot, with rice or Indian breads.
For added flavour or spiciness, you can add hot curry paste or sprinkle in chilli powder or chilli flakes.
I don't know how your programs are called but first I use BAKE and then STEW0 -
