Renault clio car probley?
Options
Hi Guys
Having a bit of a issue with the renault clio I have, its a 02 red so its not the newer models its the older models but not the very old models lol,
About 2 weeks ago I tryed starting my car and it made the sound like it was trying to start 3 times then cut out but not like the battery was going maybe more like starter moter and it then started after 5 trys,
Yesterday it just would not start and I had to call the rac, he trying a lot of dfferent things but could not seem to see what was wrong, he looked at the relays and he said that he put duck oil on them and cleaned some tube in my car and then he got it going so I managed to get to work, he told me that i needed to go to renault and get 3 new relays for behing the headlight which one was for the starter one for fan and one for something else, now as i said he got it going and i got to work then we i finnished work i started my car then it stalled for no reason i then started up and seemed fine and got 5 minutes down the road near a roundabout and the car just slowed right down that i had to go into first gear then pull over but it was still on, i then turned it off and on again and got home fine, again this morning when on the way to work it grinded to a stop and then i turned it off then on again and it got me to work, felt like i was giving it power and the car was pushing something infront too heavy that it had to stop, also a but of a slugish sound like it may cut out of power, i know rac got the car going but seems to giving me these issues now, could this be just to do with needing 3 relays or maybe something different as i dont want to go buy 3 relays then its not that and i have to take this to a guarage and cost hundreds as its only a o2 reg and only worth about £800. sorry for going on but trying to tell the whole story lol
thanks guys

Yes the dreaded black relays have cost many a Renault owner multiple thousands in repairs only to discover one of the £3 relays are playing up.Be happy...;)0

thanks do you think i should just go into renault and get the 3 relays then see?
thanks0 -
Most motor factors stock them, Citroen use the same ones and some VW's.
When they play up they can cause intermittent fuel pump, starter and ignition problems.
One playing effects the other two as they share a common power and earth feed.Be happy...;)0 -
Thanks will have to look for a decent cheapish guarage and ask.0
