Advice on deferring pension whilst getting carers allowance

Hi, I would be glad of any help with this as I'm baffled tbh.

My wife has received a letter informing her of her pension due to be paid in Nov this year(2013) she was born 01/02/1952, in the letter is states it can be deferred but would have to give up her carers allowance that she receives for me(i'm on DLA high on both components).
If she decided to defer her pension and stop claiming C/A for me would I then receive more money for my Pension Credit as at the moment the C/A is an overlapping benefit which they take off as a qualifying income
