My DD3 (going into yr 8 but only just 12 so one of the youngest in the year - I know some say it makes no odds but having 2 August babies (and 2 that weren't) I have noticed a difference in their schooling, they do seem to be about a year behind) has stated she wants do some home learning before going back to school. We have nearly 2 weeks before they are due back so I am quite happy that she wants to get her head back in the game already.
Does anyone here know of any sites that are particularly good/recommended? She wants to do some maths, science, english and french. Her school don't seem to use SAM learning which was my first thought as that is what DD2's school use. I really want to encourage this as she hasn't been the most studious child!
Thanks!

BBC learning would probably be her best bet to start with. There are loads out there, but the BBC is easy to access and use, and will have everything she needs, at her level, on it.0

Thanks. I did look but I could find primary school or GCSE bitesize so too easy or way to hard. I'll have a closer look.Spam Reporter Extraordinaire

What a great girl for wanting to study
If only there were more like her!!
I was also going to recommend BBC Bitesize. Also try Duolingo for languages (they start right at the beginning so that will boost her confidence when she realises she already knows the dead easy stuff) and EducationQuizzes.com for other stuff.
Good luck to her for this academic year

BBC bitesize is quite good and covers all of the key stages, so it will have relevant games, tests, revision and learning pages on the subjects you are looking for.0

I'm a science teacher and we recommend the BBC site in addition to our own school resources for KS3

For maths, both mangahigh and mymaths are good. The former is more gamey, the latter less intensive (no time pressure).0

MyMaths is very good - but you need a login and password. If the school have subscribed then they can give you it as it's generic for the school, but does require them to pay an annual subscription for you to be allowed access to the site.0 -

Good point, I'd forgotten that.0
