ATM didn't dispense cash but bank claims that it did!!! help please!!

Need some LEGAL ADVICE from anyone who may be able to help!!!!

So, at the beginning of June I attempted 3 cash withdrawals from ATMs in Hanoi Airport, Vietnam -the first 2, however, read 'transaction cancelled' and NO MONEY WAS DISPENSED. However, guess what, the money was still debited from my account. Obviously, I contacted my bank... who said they would investigate it and refund the money within 48 'working hours' (which is actually 6 working days) :/

Anyway, they did it, it was sorted, i thought that was the end of it... but no...

2&1/2 months later, the money is suddenly debited from my account again!! Upon phoning my bank and demanding an explanation, I was told that the issuing banks had confirmed that the money WAS dispensed from the ATM. And it DEFINITELY WASN'T!!!

Now I have to 'appeal' this, but no idea how to prove that I'M TELLING THE TRUTH AND HAVE BASICALLY BEEN ROBBED!! Hopefully they have CCTV, but otherwise i've no idea how to go about this! :(

I loved Vietnam but it is FULL of THIEVES! I got way too much STOLEN there, i'm NOT letting this one slide!!

Any advice please???? It will be much appreciated. Many Thanks.x

No need to prove anything. Just tell them that the bank has supplied them incorrect information and you did not receive the money.

Follow the full complaint process. If they have not sent you information about how to appeal/complain then ask them to do so. They should also include details of how to contact the ombudsman if you are not happy with their final response.

Don't start talking about proof or legal action though. Just tell them clearly what happened and say that you do not believe that the money should have been debited as you did not receive it.
