Thanks all. I've put a request on Freecyle so will see if that turns up anything for the books. I'm going to have to spend out of the stuff I sold to pay for groceries so I guess I'll have to rely on the newsagents for now!
What about the local library? Neighbours? Friends? I'm sure somewhere is cheaper than the local newsagent.

Won't the job centre help with printing? I might be being naive but it's just a thought.

You're bound to find one somewhere, old computer kit is practically worthless these days with everyone wanting the latest of everything but if it still works there's always someone like yourself who can make use of it.

Ask everyone you know if they have an old but working printer hanging about in a cupboard.

Hi, I bought one of these a year ago Epson Stylus SX130 all in one and to be honest its reliable and cheap to run as you can get compatible cartridges for a few quid a set.

Theres one on ebay for £26 at the moment.

  • 50p a print out that is day like robbery, as the other poster said there must be cheaper places than that but I suppose doing it yourself with a printer would be even cheaper in the long run.

If you don't mind refurbished gear, the Canon outlet on ebay are worth checking out ... search for seller 'canon_uk1' ...
