Default - When do they come off

A default was placed on my card on 06.04.09 as I went on a long term arrangement to pay. What is the date this is due to "come off" my credit reference file as a default?

Is it 06.04.15?

manyt thanks

If the "date of default" showing on your credit report is 06/04/2009, then yes, it will disappear from your credit report on 06/04/2015 (6 years).

Except on Equifax, who will leave it on and feed you a load of bull when you complain that they should have removed it.

That's interesting to know. It's getting near that time when I should get a statutory report out of Equifax then...

So I expect that getting wrong accounts that aren't mine removed from my file problematic? I've filed 7 requests for wrong accounts listed as mine 2 days ago. Sounds like I have a battle coming up.

For me, I raised a dispute with Equifax about some incorrect late payment markers.

I've no idea what they did, if anything, but I wrote to the creditor directly demanding they remove the markers and they did so.

Equifax added a notice of correction to my credit file to say that some of the data was disputed and left it on there for about a month after the problem was resolved, even though I asked them to remove it straight away.
    What will your verse be?

Saying that they are usually incompetent and obstructive would be the understatement of the year. Good luck.
