Hi All,
Apologies if this is a bit of a noob question....
We're in the process of selling our home.
In the current slow market, we're fully aware this process could happen next week or in twelve months time.
I'm just wondering if we switch provider now, does the deal come with us when we move or will we get stung with early exit fees ?
This also relates to switching other services such as phone, broadband etc.

Depends on the provider.
When we moved, sky - broadband, phone, TV - moved for no charge all be it with a new number. For BT its the same although you can keep your number if its on the same exchange.
For energy, our existing account with coop energy was closed and we took over the existing supply from BG (the previous owners were signed up with them) at the new property.
You can switch to another provider the day you move in but due to the way the switching process works you cant 'port' your energy account from one property to the other.0 -

In relation to energy supply, the tariff is not usually transferable in any way (but the odd supplier may allow this on request)
But you won't get stung for any early exit charges either - they don't apply where you terminate due to moving/selling the property.0
