I seem to remember something about pouring boiling water over the fowl before you try to pluck it.

At my upper school we had a farm, and the students had the task of preping the chooks for the school shop. One thing i do remember is not to get the bird wet as they tend to go off quicker. Also doesn't the skin get tighter when you add boiling water? Wouldn't this make it harder to pluck?!
Just a thought. Has any one kept geese? They are the best guard dogs and have lovely eggs.
