Yeah, ebay is the easy way to sell it and i think i will end up just using ebay tbh! It's £100 to get the kit removed from my car so will just stick it on for a £300 and see how it goes, its a shame as LPG has saved me 1000's i expect, i've done 100k on gas in 4 years so going to hit me hard paying more money for fuel haha!

Why did you take it off the car?

I would buy and pay a premium for a second hand car with LPG fitted.

I would not buy a second hand LPG kit and fit it to any car. Who do you blame when it does not work (the kit or the fitter?)

Must admit, I don't understand the logic of removing it from your old car.

Even if you sell it for £300 you will make less than £200 after fees, plus the cost of removal.

Surely you could of made that £200 on top of the standard price when you sold your old car?. Especially if you could show it working.

Generally LPG kits are only removed from cars when the system is not working, so they are not the easiest item to sell 2nd hand.

    Hi guys,

The car im removing it off is a 2000 reg mk4 golf with 170k on the clock, i've taken it for the MOT and its not passed due to emmsions and i've spent enough on the car to not warrent spending any more (£900 in the last year).

Its been a great runner and the LPG has not skipped a beat but i suppose you're right in at least i can show the LPG working etc on the car, The car is worth scrap i expect but figured i can take the new exhaust off and LPG and alloys and sell them for more than i would get scrap value for the whole thing?

The gas kit has done 100k and never been back to the garage since i had it installed about 4 years ago haha, maybe i should remove it and then just store it for when i get a petrol car as i suspect worth more to me than selling it on in that case.

I didn't think they tested emissions if you were running on lpg?

Yes they still check the emissions. Its tested on whatever fuel you turn up with it running on.

So if you have poor petrol emissions it may pass on LPG or vice versa.

I forget the figures, But i think its more lenient on LPG or easier to pass anyway.

Yes, they run it on whatever it comes in on but yes basically my thinking was it would be better to sell the car in parts rather than as a whole, i would keep it but being 26 its getting to much money to run it in up keep compared to a diesel, I've never just sold a car let alone strip one and sell it lol

I've had this car for 5 years and before than only ever crashed them and been given money for new ones via insurance :P
