Bought a car with issues
about 2 weeks ago me and the wife travelled around are area looking for one type of car a white vauxhall corsa limited edition.
we found a few but found a really nice one in MK.
so we looked around it and found a couple of little dents which garage said they would sort out.
on day of collection it was raining very heavy, so really hard to check the dents but from what we could see they had gone.
so signed collection note and drove home, about 3 miles from home are front screen started to not clear and wipers were useless, and were bouncing across the screen.
so when home called dealer who said bring back next day and they will have a look.
so following day took back and found out the wiper linkage had gone, so they replaced.
while there i noticed one of the dents hadnt been removed so questioned this, so they agreed to send off to bodyshop to be done as the dentless paint remove guys couldnt remove.
well last week car went into body shop for 3 days to have the dent removed on qtr panel and painted.
collected car on friday, and noticed a colour difference in reapir, they said they couldnt do anything now as was late and take car home and call back monday, which i did, but lthe guy seemed to want to ignore my call, but i managed to get hold of him, and he said take car to the large allen ford bodyshop near me to have a estimate of repairs on the repairs.
so took yesterday, and they inform me repiar was poor standard and was wrong colour and there was actually a square paint of different colour paint on that panel, and now it needed to be re done and whole side of car to be painted.
estimate was around £1200.
called dealer and they said they wouldnt be prepared to cover costs, and that i would need to live with it.
we part ex are seat ibiza 2009 in on this car which they have now sold and cleared the finance, we paid 8k cash into the deal leaving around 3k to finance.
where do i stand on this, there is finance on the car but cant trade in as will lose to much cash. i have expressed a refund where they return the difference in cash which works out around 5.5k as we put in 8k to pay off the negative on the old car
what should i do, one side of the car is different colours
car in a late 2011 model with less they 18k on the clock.

Sounds like everyone you've come across in this venture is taking the proverbial p1ss. But then when you spend a pile of money on a car, people tend to milk you for whatever you have left.
Why was it painted to repair a dent?
You don't respray the whole side of a car, when there's a patch of different colour, you spray up to the shut lines and blend.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

bad repair i guess
the bodyshop who ive taken car to have said ideally the side needs a re spray as its a white car
they said about to the shut lines but they said again could leave colour difference in panels0 -
Take it to another bodyshop for it to be properly assessed. It may well have been in a bump that has transfer damage all over the place. What you don't want to do though is let a bodyshop that cannot hide a repair -in white - near it again.0

the original repair was a local body near the garage of purchase and ive never heard of them, small man outfit id guess
the body shop quoting to paint the side is a very large bodyshop, and have affiliations with top insurers and car manufacturers
its there quote of over 1k to put the previous bad repiar right.
i have called the dealer who said leave it with me ill sort it.
that was number of days ago and have heard nothing, i will call them Tuesday to find out whats happening and push for them to cover cost of repairs, but i just know that even with this being done the car will never be right, which really annoys me.0 -
Not sure how much you paid for the car, but if you do manage to get a refund, take a look at the pre-regs from Lookers
http://www.lookers.co.uk/vauxhall/offers/pre-reg-vauxhall-offers/pre-reg-corsa-offers
Might not be much more to have a practically new one.0
