This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” is fine.

Good morning everyone
Even less time than usual today as it's DH's payday so have been doing banking.
If nothing else goes right today/this week/month/year, at least we will feel good today as another debt is completely gone. Goodbye to the nasty NatWest OD :j
Well wishes to all sick people and pets and hugs for anyone who needs or just wants one. Keep well and safe and have a super dayLBM 10/1/12 ~ DFW Start 6/2/12: £82,344 ~ Now Zero:staradmin:starmod::staradmin Debt free 17th April 2015 :staradmin:starmod::staradmin

Morning :hello:

I have a new hobby – Coffee#1 :rotfl: Went there for the first time yesterday, they do the best latte in the worldIt had a little leaf shape in the froth, I was quite fascinated by this, lol. I've had cappuccinos with shapes made out of the powdered chocolate, but had no idea it was possible on a latte, must investigate and see if I can do this at home

Yesterday was strictly a browsing day (a bit ruined by having to buy milk and picking up a prescription, but I'll ignore that!) so I trawled the coffee shops, gift shops and a pub. Picked up a few crafty bits in a little handicrafts shop, the owner knows everything about every craft, she was great. The shop was a bit messy but in a good way, she was complaining that there just isn't room to fit everything inThe gift shops are very shabby chic. One was particularly good, I wanted one of everything. They sell lots of one-offs (there are a few two-offs too, lol), the owner said she likes to buy in things that have been either handmade or altered by local people and she doesn't want too many of any one thing. She wants her customers to have things that no-one else has. I was admiring a handmade blackboard with a letter rack but had a pinboard planned for my kitchen, so didn't buy it. Got home and wished I had. My mum is going down that way today so she's going to pick it up for me :T
Everyone else (but mostly miss tru) had done the housework, sorted the chickens, etc. All I have to do today is animal jobs and hang out one load of washing :T The bathroom should be finished by now but instead of just painting it, I've decided to alter this and just move that........ So I'll be playing around in there today.
Off to catch up with yesterday's thread.Bulletproof0 -
Good morning everyone :j
Before I forget, Well Done to TTFTM for paying off another debt, that is brilliant news.
Not sure what the weather is going to do today, looks bright enough at the moment. Hubby gone off to work feeling better today so that's really good. I have company this morning as DD13 was up at the crack of dawn. She was sleeping in her sister's bed and couldn't get comfortable so she gave up and came downstairs.
Trying to plan our meals for the next few days without having to use the oven. We have a hob and grill so you would think it would be easy but I'm struggling. I think I'll do mince and onions with mash and cabbage for tea. I can hear the moans already.
I had a complete meltdown last night due to the realization that fat cat was never coming back. I really miss that smelly old thing, he used to sit on my chest at night purring away while I tried to breathe through my mouth only.:rotfl::rotfl:. The evil kittens are giving me some comfort though as when they are behaving they are very very cute. I'm glad we got them now even though they have destroyed our house. Ah well, it's only things...and wallpaper!
I'm supposed to go and see my friend today but I think I am going to cry off. She is lovely but very paranoid and records your conversation with her . I just don't have the energy to deal with it today. I will catch up on all the bits of housework that needs doing instead.
Well that's it for now. I shall leave you in peace. Gentle hugs for all who would like one.
Cheers m'dears x
Oh before I forget, Floss2, thank you for your offer of finding me some links for cake decorating. That would be amazing, yes please xx0 -
Mornin all
Overcast and windy here so might be able to get some washing out!
Just got my brew and planning what needs to be done today. Most of my stuff is away and it is very hard not to just do the girls stuff for them as I seem to do it in a quarter of the time but they have to learn.
New mattress has been ordered for dd1 bed. She is semi out of nappies but her mattress pongs despite having mats etc on. It is very old as well so I have bought a cheap one till she's fully dry and then told her she can choose a new bed. Better start saving!
Had to take laptop in to be looked at yesterday as nothing on screen. Will be either £25 or will ring if it is going to be more and he'll ring with an estimate first. Eek! Hope it's the former!
I will be spending money today mainly bills but will also have to get some hedrin. dd1 was scratching away, I can't see anything really but her dreads don't help.Don’t put it down - put it away!

Good Morning x
Posting from central London this morning. I have two appointments in two days so we bit the bullet and stayed over as I was exhausted after first appointment. This is in preparation for my September stay.
Anyway no MSE but OH did get to go on the London EYE at night and got some amazing pictures. A dream for many years so really pleased he achieved it. Then in the middle of night the fire alarms went off and it was not a test:eek: Anyhow we were in a disabled room so easy access and it turned out to be a fault - thank goodness. I did find that I am too attached to my lap top as had to be forcibly prevented from taking it with me!
Off for breakfast and then back to hospital for round two. Have a very food day xxI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -
Morning all!
Have been to the doctors, been to chemist for prescription, and am now trying to think of something to do to avoid the ironing mountain!!!Hopefully if I go out this morning I will knuckle down and do some ironing this afternoon, well that's the plan anyway!RIP Iain

Morning all,
just finished dying my roots so still a bit damp. I hate using a hairdryer so I'll wander round doing my jobs till dry.
We went to Frankie & Bennies last night, which did raise DH's mood a bit, but he is still shaken by their duplicity -I'm frightened I might start ranting so I'll stop.
TTFTM - well done!
Dumpling - it's horrible not knowing, isn't it.
Molly - sending positive thought for today
Have a good day all xI can cook and sew, make flowers grow.0
