Cash Generators help please

I bought a second hand PS3 in store earlier today paying cash. The controller doesn't work ( both back buttons L2 & R2 stick) and the console itself freezes at random and has to be unplugged before it will work again. I would like a refund as it is my second bad experience buying second hand consoles. I have decided I would be better off paying the extra and buying brand new. The first faulty console (WIIU) was from Game and they were very good with giving me a replacement quickly but looking online I am worried Cash Generators may be awkward. It seems they like to test it and decide if it is faulty themselves. I am not happy about this as the console is not likely to freeze instantly and I can't see them testing it for 20-30 mins. When browsing in store before I have seen the manager refuse a refund to a man complaining of a faulty TV, telling him he didn't have to refund or replace. I have read so many horror stories online today about this company I don't want a replacement. vouchers etc. I want refund so I can use the money towards a new system. Am I right in thinking they must offer a full refund? As this was only bought today I still have the receipt.

Yes, if it is faulty then after such a short period of time you can reject the goods for a full refund.
As you say, your problem will be showing that the thing is faulty.
You do not have a statutory right to a full refund if it cannot be agreed that the thing is faulty.
Only if their returns policy allows a refund in these circumstances, and from what you say it sounds like it doesn't, are you likely to get one.0 -
Print off some small leaflets, Stating do not buy from this store.
They sell faulty goods and refuse to refund you.
Walk around outside and give them to anyone that looks like they may go into the store.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
OH bought a a console from a cash generator a few years ago along with a few second hand games, it was faulty and they just powered it on to check the fault and gave him the choice of an exchange or refund. He took the refund and they refunded they refunded the whole bundle without a problem.
If yours only shows the problem after 30 mins or so, offer to leave it with them to test for a while. I'd imagine they are the sort of shop who get a lot of people trying it on so are likely to want to test every returned electrical item.0 -
Or simply speak to them in store and see what they'll do.forgotmyname wrote: »Print off some small leaflets, Stating do not buy from this store.

Bit extreme considering he hasn't even spoken to them..
OP, maybe make a video of it freezing to demonstrate the problem to the store.0 -

Totally not an over-reaction given that he hasn't spoken to the store yet...!
Should probably change your name to forgottoengagebrainbeforeusingkeyboard
