Trouble with net book at start up

Evening all, I'm posting this via my wife's I-pad as I'm having problems with my Acer net book. I logged off and shut it down last night and all was fine. This evening I switched it on and it began to load up, when my icon came up which I usually just click which then takes me to the desktop it keeps coming up with a message "User profile service failed the login .User profile cannot be loaded" all I can do is shut it down.

I'm the only user and I don't bother with a password protection as I only use the net book for invoices/quoting etc for me business and Internet..

Any help would be much appreciated as I have some invoices to write.. I did do a search but couldn't find anything.

Thanks in advance Leveller

Thanks nifty,I did find the link a few minutes ago but I can't get to the start menu to carry out the possible solutions. Should I start in safe mode and get in that way. Cheers Lev

Edit: Just read "start up in safe mode"

Back up your data, so that you can run a Factory Restore or utilise a system image at a moment's notice.

run chkdsk c: /F on it, to check for disk corruption

it's handy to have a second user account in case one profile gets corrupt.

These computers are renowned for having dodgy fans, and overheating issues. So make sure it is well ventilated; also the batteries are prior to fail.

I have one for repair, with all those, and it also has a tendancy to do random upgrades ALL THE TIME!!! Vista? Why update always??? ARGH!

There is a BIOS upgrade for certain models, to make the fan work, as an earlier BIOS update broke the computer, but doing this could kill the computer (as I have done myself!), but the latter BIOS update made the fan work.....on your head be it.
