Don't worry about missing your target for the month, DH must take Priority From The Pot!
Thanks edinburgher - a happy pot is better than a full pot

Not a good start to the day - broke the lid to my precious slow cooker - that's another £21 further away from my target. It will have to come out the contingency pot - at least we have one. Only 11 days into my financial month and money seems to be leaking out everywhere. £125 to tax the mini out today though that comes out the car pot so no unexpected spend there.
On a positive note I have got DH to sign up for TCB so hopefully I shall get £7.50 as a referal and he also ordered a new printer for the company through it a few more pounds there too. Suprised that he was willing to do it as he normally has MSphobia :rotfl: Also transferred my monthly £1000 to Nationwide so that's another £8 earned too.
No list again today just loads of kids
Left over homemade gammon and chicken pie for tea tonight - don't think I need anything from Mr T
Watched Extreme Couponing with DD this morning whilst she was waiting for a friend - wow! Now that's my kind of TV viewing - am going to do a bit of research on this :money:
Sun is shining on my back - lovely and warm

Also got a Booker account today which should be useful in the future for bulk buying :j

Hi KolaKube - I think its on TCL or TLC not sure which one - you can also find it on the internet. DD introduced me to it - have got her well trained. I can't believe these people actually make money out of shopping - fantastic - particularly as I like to stock up on supplies. I'm sure there must be something about it on this site so I'm going to do some research on it - will keep you posted

Ended up with a ManCave (aka garage) full of teenagers last night as DSS2 asked if he could invite some more mates round for a little social gathering  Came downstairs to numerous bodies (sleeping) in various rooms and several empty packets of cereal. No other damage that I can see (though I haven't ventured into the garage) DSS2 left a note to tell me not to tidy up in there - well I have no intention of doing it anyway
Didn't get much sleep as I was slightly anxious but they weren't noisy but must oil the door hinges as there was a constant creak as they trooped to the loo!
Having checked my online accounts as I do most mornings I discovered that one of my credit cards had been used frauduantly a couple of days ago for a phone call in Morocco - rang immediately and got a stop on that and hopefully my money should be put back in there too. It's definately important to keep a check on any transactions - we had the same thing happen a month ago on our business account - luckily it was the bank that got in touch with us and they were very quick to refund us the money.
Off to Westfield today - not for myself but to take DS and two of his friends. They want to go clothes shopping and as he doesn't know what he wants for his bday or xmas I'm going to give him some money to get some stuff today. Will give them some money to get a burger whilst they are there. Another houseful of kids staying tonight so need to get something sorted for dinner.
Popped into Mr A last night to fill up with petrol as their prices have gone down so £38 spent there.
The Queen of Lists is listless again today (in more ways than one) I think I shall rename my self the Taxi Queen :rotfl:
Off for a shower to wake myself up.

Had a lovely time in Westfield yesterday - the boys went off and I bought myself a book and sat in a cafe for 4 hours - 4 hours totally to myself :j Money well spent as the book was Retire Rich Retire Young by the guy who wrote Rich Dad Poor Dad - a great read so far. Not so sure about the Retire Young bit as I'm past that already
Hoping for a LSD today - only need to get a few bits for lunch (feeding 7 today) so toasted fishfinger, melted cheese and bacon sandwiches is on the menu - just need to get some cheese I think. Smoked haddock risotto for tea tonight out the freezer. Need to cook up the gammon that I bought half price as it is nearing its eat by date.
My challenge to not throw any food away is going so-soHad to throw some rock hard yorkshires away this morning which had been sat on the bread bin since sunday and the remaining veg that DH had cooked for Sunday lunch which I never got round to using up. I also had to throw some chicken away the other day because our fridge is not great and it had gone off before the sell by date - must check out the fridge temperature at the top.
I have numerous kids to shuffle around today - pick up DD drop off DS friends, and take kids to their dads tonight. Also need to shuffle my flexiaccount money back and hopefully get the interest for the month. On the money front I want to spend some time today working out how much I need to save on a monthly basis to ensure I hit my target of £250,000. I will work this out on a non-interest basis and see how much I will be short at the end of the 70 month period I have remaining.
Last official day of the school hols today - it's been an expensive one (which reminds me I must order my merlin passes today - I have just the right amount of points to get two and £6 in points towards the third one I need to get by Feb when the next round of coupons gets issued (need to get to £52). Other parents weekend but my two are coming back tomorrow as we have a halloween party to go to so I need to make some bits for the party and get some wine. Sorry just rambling - will get back to my lists tomorrow much easier to follow
Have a good one

Just want to record my savings so far today:
£21 off the Ted Baker offer I saw on the site - picked up only one in the shop thanks to :money: Will use this for sisters bday in January
£12 buy 3 get one free in Boots for bday pressies for ems friends over the year
£3.75 added to my Boots reward card due to various coupons I kept in my purse
£22 saved on various purchases in WH Smith on 2 for one offer and a £5 off voucher I had from last time I went in
£9 for two half price xmas gifts in Mr T
That's a whopping £67.75 saved by using offers and a bit of forward planning on my part - bring it on :j

So I've done some sums and worked out what I need to save on a monthly basis if I am to reach my target in 70 months. I based it on my monthly income and taken out my monthly outgoings and allocated budget accounts.
£2142 monthly savings requirement
£1498montly savings maximum
£644monthly short fall
This shortfall appears extremely high but there are a number of things I haven't taken into account: any additional income from interest or other money savings as well as potential underspends (ignoring overspends :rotfl:) council tax free months etc etc etc. (I have made nearly £6,000 so far this year in this way). Of course there are always additional costs that I can't account for.
To summarise it's going to be a challenge
I am going to relook at my budget accounts over the next few weeks and see if I can shave money off there ie I have a budget for £4,700 for a holiday for all 6 of us - I will reduce that to £4000. I also have an annual budget of £3600 for annual costs - mainly cars and insurance and I am hoping to come in £600 under budget this year so that can be added to the pot.
No matter how organised I am there is no way of predicting accurately what our spend will be or our income in 3 years time but I can get myself into a position to get things allocated for one year ahead, and as I am not reliant on any income from DH - if he does get a job it will be a bonus
