I set up my own Self-employed business (sole trader) almost 4 weeks ago and it has really taken off
I am looking into finding an accountant, but have no idea how on earth i do this.
What questions should i ask them? Is there anything like a governing body that i need to check they are registered with? How often do i meet with them, and in what circumstances?
HELP! Please

Personal recommendation is probably the best way to find one.
Always get to see at least a couple or 3 and have a chat with them first. This is a very personally interactive service, and getting on with an accountant can be entirely personal.
Also if you have no idea what to even ask, it sounds like an accountant used to dealing with complete newbies would better suit you.
(The questions you ask here are excellent questions to pose to your potential accountant - apart from "how do I find another one?"!)0 -
Thanks Wywth, that is useful
I definitely want one that is used to newbies!0 -
there's a few of us (companies & self employed) that post on UK Business Forum that use CheapAccounting, they get recommended a lot. purely an online service but our accountant is there for any queries via email or phone.0
