I have recently tried to reclaim mis sold PPI on aq secured loan, amounting to something like £12,000. The Company we took the loan out with have received all our forms and written back to us, saying as they weren't present at the point of sale then they can't help. They say that although they provided the finance for the PPI they didn't sell it and the company that did, are no longer trading so we should firstly contact their administrators and if that isn't successful, contact Citizens Advice. The company who acted as agents, are in fact still trading under a different company number and at a different address. Their logos on line are exactly the same as they were in 2006! They say in their letter this is their final response and our complaint is closed. HAs anyone else had a similar experience.

Yes, many people. You don't complain to the finance company if they didn't sell you the policy, any liability would be with whoever sold it to you. Why do you believe it was mis-sold?0

Which is logical if they did not sell it.They say that although they provided the finance for the PPI they didn't sell it and the company that did, are no longer trading so we should firstly contact their administrators and if that isn't successful, contact Citizens Advice.
I cant see how citizens advice can help. if the company still has assets and an administrator then you could still try that but if its closed down fully then its game over for that route. The company who acted as agents, are in fact still trading under a different company number and at a different address.
So, in other words, not the same company. They say in their letter this is their final response and our complaint is closed. HAs anyone else had a similar experience.
Yes. You complained to the wrong place. The response will be similar to others that complain to the wrong place.
If you bought the product before 2005 then its game over. If you bought after 2005 then you can complain to the FSCS.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
