KLM Hand Luggage dimensions...Any case recs?

...It appears KLM's baggage sizes are sized slightly differently to most cabin sized bags, instead of a 55x40x20 size bag, requirements are for a 55x35x25 piece of luggage. I'm struggling to find a case/backpack to fit the requirements. As I am going on hand luggage only I want to make the most of what I am allowed.

Can anyone suggest a make/model?

I have just flown with KLM this weekend and used the World's Lightest Case from Matalan, not the smallest one but the next size up. It measures 55 x 40 x 20cm so the same linear inches.

I contacted KLM and they confirmed that it would be accepted.
  • Thanks very much! I was looking at those cases - and I wondered if they would be acceptable because the volume is the same!

My experience with KL is that they don't seem to police the size or weight of hand luggage - I have seen some great performances of passengers attempting to fit obvious oversized hand luggage into the overhead bins - nearly decapitating everyone in the vicinity in the process!

If you are planning on hand baggage only due to the cost element of checking a bag into the hold.....you can sign up for a Flying Blue card/membership and you will then get a free hold bag.
