DRO and student loan advice

Hello

I am half way through my DRO granted in march this year. I am looking in to starting a college course and have found out that I can apply for an advanced learning loan which will pay for the course and I won't have to pay back until I am earning £21000 as far as I know the fees are paid direct to the learning provider. So my question is would this affect the DRO in any way?

Comments

  • If its paid to your course directly it shouldnt matter as you arent seeing the money as such. You must tell the learning loan institute that you are subject to a DRO as you must inform anyone who you borrow more than £500 of this fact. It shouldnt matter a great deal - but you need to inform them so you are keeping to the t&c you accepted when the DRO was granted.
