How to add a logo to an email sig in Live mail

I want to add a logo to my email signature in my windows live email account.
I have created a word doc ('rich text format'...whatever that means)with my sig and logo but can't save this to my signature as a file as it appears I can only save a *.txt document (what ever one of those is)

I am not computer savvie so no idea what I am doing at this point.
Can any help point me in the right direction?

Many thanks
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once

I think you can add a 'link' to an image stored on the web somewhere (dropbox/skydrive etc) so that it shows up at the other end but not simply add it to the signature and have it sent with the message.

I'll see if I can find the web pages relating to this as I have a vague recollection that I tried doing the same thing a while back.

You can add the text bit of your signature by following the steps below

In outlook/hotmail go to the cog icon in the top right - select more mail settings, Writing Email - Formatting-font-signature,

In the bit at the bottom 'personal signature' - you can type (or copy/paste) text here and it should appear on your messages.

In windows live mail I don't have a cog in the top right. But I have already done typed a signature and this works fine - it is now I want to add a logo it won't take it.

I misunderstood your original post - I overlooked that you were using 'Windows Live Mail' as your email client.
Ignore my posts as they relate to a Microsoft email account using outlook.com/hotmail.com
