There's an earlier thread on removing nail polish with out remover so I've added your thread to it to keep all the replies together.

I've run out of nail polish remover/acetone.

Also hair spray works. Spray some onto your fingers and wipe off very quickly. It's not brilliant but will work in a pinch

One I discovered by accident...add a second coat of nail varnish and wipe off immediately and it takes the undercoat off as well.
