Is anyone using car pooling/ride through blahblah in UK?
Is it safe to take a ride using portals like blahblah in UK for some unplanned journeys between the cities?
Any issues with insurance etc ?
It is very economical and environmental friendly but appears to be not many takers yet !

Your questions, apart from the first one, are answered on the blahblah site.
Few people use it because (speaking for myself) the whole point of travelling by car is so you don't have to have anyone invade your personal space, otherwise you could mix it with the passengers on public transport.I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

The idea and the theory are great. But it rarely works well.
Many moons ago i worked for a company that moved. One guy had the idea of picking people on on the way and have them pay to cover his expenses.
Great idea. But some still needed a travel card anyway so no saving there and would be awkward if you needed to go home early or arrive later.
What to do when the driver has a holiday or needs time off or needs to go a different way home etc.
Then you find someone that drives like a looney, Or goes everywhere at 37mph. Whether its a 20, 30, 40, 60 or 70 limit. 37mph everywhere.
What will you do if their car breaksdown and they dont have breakdown cover?Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
