First direct closing account by post

Hi, does anyone know if I can close the First Direct account by sending a letter instead of phoning them (or through secure messaging online), since they don't have a branch? I'm not claiming the £100 exit 'bonus'.

No-one, but I'd skip straight to the cancellation/ending the agreement section if I wanted to cancel or end the agreement.

I do skim-read any account I open, just in case there are unusual terms such as inactivity charges, cancellation fees, etc.

That's not necessary for a query such as you posted. You simply need to find and open the electronic document and "edit/find on this page" the text you're looking for.

Took me all of 20 seconds to get your answer earlier. It would have been even quicker if I hadn't had to skip all the "disclose" words (in the privacy section) when what I wanted was simply "close".
