Very (Shop Direct) Credit record mistake..

Hi guys, am really upset as I have just gotten my yearly credit report only to find out that Very(shop direct LTD) have marked me for 2 months arrears in March/April 2012.
I ordered a bed as I thought I was moving home last year, but when I found out I couldn't afford to move, I cancelled the order. My very account shows that the order was cancelled/returned by the end of January 2012.. so I really don't know how the hell they have had me in arrears for March & April.
It has no doubt affected my interest rates (have wondered why they have been increasing..) and probably prevented me from getting better rates which I have been trying to do, to stay afloat during this crappy time.
I have just written an email to Very, demanding them to fix my credit record for those months and have also told them I will be seeking legal advice about how this may have affected me over the last year.
I am here to ask you guys what exactly are my options here? Are they obligated to fix this?
Am I entitled to compensation because of the interest rate increases I have received, no doubt because of this? Or if I discover it has prevented me from shifting my credit to lower interest accounts?

No - you wouldn't be able to prove it was because of that, and it may well have had nothing to do with it anyway.0 -

If that's the only negative thing on the account then it seems to me that it shouldn't be too difficult to argue - on the balance of probabilities (the civil law test) - that it was those markers that caused the interest rate hikes.
This is just my uneducated view on the matter, I have no experience

Cheers.. My report is fully green and OK right back to when I first applied for credit in 2006.
Apart from the Very issue of course.
I am just annoyed.. things may have gone a little easier for me if they hadn't screwed up and no wonder I failed to get the lower rate cards when I applied 6 months ago >.<
Really can't afford to pay for a credit check every time I want to apply for something.. gah.
