Hello.
My partner is with Virgin Money, and he wants to move current accounts to another bank. He applied for a Halifax current account which offers £100 cashback as a new customer, however his application was declined due to his poor credit rating.
Can anyone advise if he will have difficulty trying another bank, or will he be declined?
It may be that he has outstanding arrears with Black Horse, and Halifax is linked now with Lloyds, which is why his application may have been declined.

Yes possibly. Depends what you mean by poor credit rating.
He might as well try another bank as there is nothing to lose, it's not like he is trying to keep credit searches low0 -
Which will show up on every credit check and lead to a decline for a full facilities current account.It may be that he has outstanding arrears with Black Horse0
