Freecycle question

I've just joined Freecycle and have a very basic question. I know several posters use it, so hopefully someone can help me out.
If you reply to a post, saying that you are interested in whatever is being offered, do you include your email and mobile number so that the person offering can contact you? Or does it go through some system at Freecycle where your username comes up?
I'm assuming it is the first, but wanted to check it out with those who actually know, rather than guessing.
Thanks for your help

As far as I know email address comes up when you post, well mine does when I offer an item, its up to me if I want to add in my mobile number when someone takes items off me.0

I've just put in 2 requests and won both and my email automatically went to the seller, the one I exchanged numbers with, the other was a collection from by the door.
xxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
Thank you both - it's a new experience for me. I'm hoping to offer some things once the kids are back at school and I have a little more time, but there are some interesting offers showing, including partly used glass paints that my Brownies would love.0

Whenever i've given anything away on Freecycle all the answers come to my Email address, so Freecycle must give it. Some people write and leave their phone number for me to get in touch, others don't. Even the ones who give a number i normally reply by Email.Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,

The group I am in used to be part of freecycle but just operates now as a yahoo group due to some changes in the way freecycle was run last year, Ive just given away some stuff today and Im not finished yet, having a massive clear out, hate binning stuff that someone could get use out of.0

You reply to any post you are interested in and your email address is shown in the reply - just like Yahoo Mail.
I find Freecycle / Freegle a bit hit and miss... I now keep a folder with details of all the users that have let me down by not collecting etc... basically so that I can ignore anything they send me in the future.
Also, keep an eye out for those members who say yes to everything and anything... we have one woman that sells stuff on ebay which I think is a bit cheeky.:hello:0 -
I gave away some stuff last week, one of the people who got in touch lived about 10mls away and wrote to save them from driving, could i deliver it.
It's free !!!! what do they want ?Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,

If people want to put my tat on ebay, thats fair enough, I generally freecycle stuff thats too bulky to go on ebay or stuff I cant be bothered donating to charity, I dont really put much on ebay anyway.
I think its quite common that people do freecycle stuff and then people sell it on.0 -

That's a good idea Tiddy i've lost count of the number of times i've waited for people to turn up. And some are an awful lot more polite than others.Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,

There's a long running thread on the Ebay board about unrealistic Freecycle requests ... quite funny https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/24716430
