  • Reading with interest. I am not in a high position as you are, I made the decision to leave a job that I quite liked because of the distance travelling each day. Its much easier and nicer for me working closer to home. I dont think i could do the long travel again. It really stressed me out.
Also I dont aspire to go higher up as I watch those on that level get more and more stressed each day and I dont think its worth it. OK you can have the better lifestyle but they seem to work longer and harder for it.

Good luck with what you decide, hope you can turn the organisation around :) You knew in your heart that the interview wasnt worth it, go with your gut I always say. :)

    Hi Tahlullah! :hello:

After what you posted on the NPT I decided to come over here and start getting to know a few people. No diary of my own, but posting on other people's sometimes. And you're the only person here I already know from elsewhere on MSE - although everyone else is being friendly and welcoming. :)

You sound as though you have been making great progress on the mortgage and are in a better position than most to cope with a redundancy, although I really hope that doesn't happen to you. Well done so far, and good luck for the future. :)
Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)

Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.
    :)

Thanks for the support everyone. It really does help to get other perspectives. Sometimes, the trees in the woods can be so big.

And a special hello to Lydiaj. Welcome to my world! Please come back and visit. Rufus and I are most welcoming, anyway, I believe so. Said hello on the NPT as well, so hopefully, you will pick one of them up.

Life is much wider than concerns about job security and mortgage payments and there is always someone who cares enough to listen and contribute. So welcome, welcome, welcome.
Still striving to be mortgage free before I get to a point I can't enjoy it.

Just posted a :hello: to you on the NPT, so here's one for you on MFW as well: :hello:

Another seriously late night tonight - must get some sleep NOW. It didn't matter too much last night because I'm a part-timer and don't work Mondays, so I was able to have a lovely long nap this morning after taking DD to school, but tomorrow I'll be at work, so will have to stay awake. Now if I can just get to sleep despite this morning's nap...

A note to self as I apperciate you won't be interested, but got through audit with outright pass and no corrective action.

    Warm feeling and big smile...

Wasn't expecting it, but Blackpool rang and asked why I chose not to attend the interview. Haven't figured out why, except I assume they didn't fill the position.

Nothing happening otherwise. No news is good news!

Have been thinking about others who have very little compared to what I have. Perhaps it is time to stop and reflect on how lucky I am, what I have to share with others and more importantly, what I intend to do about it.

A while back, I tried to volunteer in a soup kitchen. They didn't get back to me and I didn't pursue it, as life got in the way. But I need to remember that for many, that is the only life they have. The only thing I really have to share is my time. I don't have enough money to make a real difference, so I will do what I can.

So, although not religious, I am going to try to give up my selfishness for Lent and give more of myself and my time to others. That's always assuming someone would want what little I am able to offer.

My next mission is to find a soup kitchen to volunteer in once a week. I will share the trials and tribulations of this task whilst attemptingt to reduce the mortgage. Watch this space...
