Payday today and so did the money shuffle.  All money allocated for bills for the next month, so feeling positive about that.  I am blessed.  My windfall still hasn't come through, but I would expect BDO to be repaying the government before paying us mere mortals the pittance we are due.  Good news is that the org I do work for kindly gave us a small Christmas present.  Considering they have no spare cash, it was really very kind and totally unexpected.  I will send a thank you email on Monday.

Still not heard from the accountant.  Not too bothered, we have until the end of January to get the paperwork submitted.  I wanted to use my new soup maker today but it didn't arrive.  Going shopping to a real supermarket tomorrow.  First time out of the house for 2 weeks.    Really looking forward to Christmas.

A bit annoyed.  One Poll has re-opened and I have gone from £21, nearly at my £25 pay out, to 555 points, one fifth of where I need to be to get the pay out.  Such rip off merchants.  Otherwise, had a pleasant Christmas and ate loads.

I have had the same, but their email says the balance should have been transferred so I'm going to email them to request they actually do so! I think they're having some teething problems at the moment, as the surveys they've put on the new website are super slow....

Thanks for the responses folks!  The good news is that they have now corrected my account and given me my money back, all in the same day.  I believe it was this easy because I provided a screen shot of my earnings prior to the changeover.  With the bonus to sign up, I can now claim my £25.00.  Good news.

Good customer service. Lucky you had a screenshot. Has your cleaner been coming? I am wondering whether mine will with the schools delaying reopening

Hi Savings.  Yes, the open tab on the laptop was crucial I guess!  I never close or delete anything until the issue is completely dealt with - which is why I kill my laptops!
Yes, my cleaner came on the 23rd - I am slowly getting the idea that her idea of clean and mine are not on the same wavelength, but at least what she does helps.  Think I will be telling her to stop cleaning the windows every fortnight, and concentrate on corners and lifting sofa cushions!  I know she will continue to come because she is back on layoff - no furlough - and will be until March, so needs any help with income she can get.  As I would prefer a life of never seeing a vacuum cleaner again, it is a match made in heaven.

Managed to make my final payment of the year into the mortgage today, so the mortgage is starting where I want it to be, below £41k.  My soup maker is great - made cabbage soup!  Was watching a Christmas movie and someone made it for an elderly parent, and I had 2 cabbages going off in the fridge, so gave it a go.  Absolutely lovely when doctored with the right herbs, spices, peppers etc.  Just bought another new phone.  I have One plus as a phone.  Just can't get on with it, so for sale it goes and have bought a Samsung.  You know where you are with Samsung and it does what it says on the tin, when you need it to.

Still trying to get some workmen to do some stuff.  Have 2 blown windows that need replacing.  Can't get anyone out.  The chimney still needs doing but the Carbon monoxide tester says I am not being slowly poisoned, so that's positive.  Still not heard anything from the builder about my French doors and balconies etc.

The sofa gave way and it appears I have woodworm in my sofa's.  It never rains but it pours!!!  Can be salvaged though.  A good dosing of wood treatment and the re-enforcement of some strategic load bearing struts, and it's back to where it was.  Had to pull all 3 apart to check, but only the 2 seaters affected.  The 3 seater was fine!  Anyway, think it may have travelled into the floor, because some of the blocks are loose and looking a bit 'nibbled'.  Can't even imagine having to lift the floor to deal with that!

Otherwise, it's been a good year considering.  Just hope that it gets better and Covid is brought under control.

To put it into perspective, Outbreak is on TV tonight.  All about a nice Pandemic!  Life imitates art so the saying goes.

    Happy New Year!

Woodworm - now that's something I have never had to deal with. Hope you get it sorted. Nibbling at the floor doesn't sound good. I am glad the alarm is reassuring. Mine is too. Good your cleaner is still coming. Any help is better than none. In our case - if she doesn't do it - it probably doesn't get done.
