Urgent Help Needed - Transferring Deposit!

Hi all
Ok, so now I am panicking! We are supposed to be completing our sale/purchase on Wednesday and I have just tried to transfer funds for our deposit from my account to the solicitors' account. However, according to my online banking (Barclays) there is a daily transfer limit of £10,000. Considering I have to transfer in excess of £60k and only now have 2 days to do it, what can I do? If I went into a Branch, would they transfer for me?
TIA

Call them or pop into branch and arrange it. The limit is for 'faster payments'
You can send by telegraphic transfer but will have to pay a fee most likely.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. Thanks for that. I have just phoned them and they have said that I have to go into the branch where the account was opened (over 25 years ago and nowhere near where I am now) and they may be able to do it? Could I not go into any branch with all relevant ID?

I would have thought so but why didn't you ask them?I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. Are you sure it's a daily limit and not a transaction limit? When I had the same situation with Nationwide, I sent over several payments of £9,999 (in the same day).0

I did ask and the lady I was talking to said I would have to, although when she asked a colleague, the colleague said she thought I could go to any branch with ID so I suppose I will have to ring the local branch in the morning and find out.
Another sleepless night...... I won't be moving anymore
Thanks for you help GMS

I'm sure it said daily limit but I will try it again now and see. (Although saying that, the lady I spoke to on the phone did say there was a daily limit).0 -

I've just tried it again to see exactly what it says and it states "the amount you have entered exceeds the overall daily transfer limit of £10,000".
Just have to hope it's sorted tomorrow. 0 -

Unfortunately I am not a "Premier" customer, just a plain old current account holder
Thanks for looking

Shame. Can't you use CHAPS? I know there's probably a fee but it would get it done.0
