If you don't have a connecting flight, why are you planning to get there 5 hours early?
  • Thanks for all of your responses.

We're getting there early as we need to return the hire car. Flight times changed and it was going to cost an extra day to rent the car for an hour or two.

We originally started our trip in Boston so we already know how and where to go in Boston, but we're stuck with the bags!
  • Air France don't tend to have the most helpful of staff. Do they (or one of their partners) have an earlier flight? If so, check in is more likely to be open. Even if there is an open desk, they may still refuse, especially if you are not in a premium class.

The only place I am aware of that has left luggage lockers is South Station bus terminal.

Find a hotel near South Station (the Intercontinental is nearby) and ask the bellboy to store your luggage for a few hours. Even though you aren't stopping there an offer of a decent tip will usually get a positive response.

I can think of 500 ways you could have been a bit more respectful and still got your point across.

I fail to see how the word boom, and a genuine suggestion that leaving unaccompanied baggage in a city the subject of recent terrorist bombing would not be the most sensible move is in any way disrespectful?

The way you wrote it is totally disrespectful. Ironically what you wrote contains a much less disrespectful comment with a much more effective message...lets see now...

Yes, much more effective, clearer and less Daily Mail.

Having spent a few hours at BOS I can see why the OP would rather not - it's got to be one of the most boring airports ever :(

BOS isn't great but airports in the US really weren't designed for long stays. People would just turn up, get on a plane and leave. Terminal E was redeveloped in recent years and it is better than it is used to be but still way behind what you'd expect in Europe or Asia.

I'm fortunate that when I use BOS I can just head to the BA lounge for free drinks.
