Redundancy threat and hidden pregnancy - what to do?

Hi all, wondered if anyone could offer any advice?
There have been a few redundancies made within my team and although I haven't been told that my job is under review - the ones that have been made redundant were complete shock ones with no consultation so I am worried the same could happen to me.
Thing is I am currently 10 weeks pregnant - I havent announced this in work yet, as I was waiting til after 12 weeks - not long to wait, I know but on the current situation I'm wondering if telling sooner rather than later is sensible.
I'm just not sure what my rights would be if I were to lose my job... my husband and I couldnt afford to pay the mortgage and bills on just one wage but im worried I wouldnt be able to find another job particularly if the potential employer knows that I'm pregnant. I know I'd still be entitled to maternity allowance rather than SMP but I'm not exactly sure how that would work either - would I be entitled to claim any additional benefits if I couldnt get work because I am pregnant?
Following the birth I guess I'd be in a better position to look for a job, whether it be full time or part time but I'm a bit panicky for the next 6 months or so...
I have been looking into income protection but if there has already been redunancies in my workplace I dont think id be entitled to claim if I lost my job, even though im not officially under review.
Sorry for the long winded post - hope someone can help shed some light on the subject!! Thanks!
