Son has booked his holiday with American Airlines to Brazil. He is stopping over for 2 days in New York. He told me he does not need a visa but I am sure he needs authorisation to travel to USA. Thanks

he will need an ESTA providing he fits the criteria and does not need a Visa. These cost $14...plenty sites will offer to charge more but the official site is $140

Thanks, when filling this form, will that be a problem if he does have an address in NW? He travels a lot and he usually looks for budget hotel at the last minute.0

You can apply for an ESTA without an address then update your details when hotel is confirmed. The ESTA is valid for 2 years so will also cover future trips. Of course, he could just put down any hotel on the form but I'm not recommending that...0
