HMRC Ignoring me.

Hi,
We were only left with claiming CB for our daughter, while she was at full time college.
CTC stopped on 2nd April 2012, as my DH started to earn over the new threshold. I informed them immediately, and payments got stopped, and there was no overpayments.
Then, my daughter left college in June this year, so CB also immediately stopped, as she got a job.
We got an award notice saying, as expected, that our award was nil. This was beginning of June.
As we have finished claiming anything now, I wrote a letter to HMRC, sent it recorded, asking them to officially end our claim. We haven't any overpayments, never had, and have never claimed WTC. I posted letter on 7th June.
Never heard anything, so wrote to them again on 8th August, but heard nothing.
I know you have a right to end a claim, so why would they ignore us?
Thanks,
Candy

Give em a ring and find out...
...as long as they don't hang up on you. These are my own views and you should seek advice from your local Benefits Department or CAB.0 -
Why would they hang up on me??
I can't ring them, because I was banned from doing so years ago because I couldn't remember the first film I saw, so I've always written to them.

We're having a contact nightmare to the phone lines to there personal numbers are not active, and the paperwork they send, we call the numbers, automated no help response, and it states you cannot leave a message at this time goodbye,

If your claim is nil then it has already ended - there is no need to write to them to end it. Or am I missing something?0 -

No, I think they keep it open, unless you end it. They haven't ended ours, even knowing we won't be claiming anymore, because the award just said it was nil for 2013 to 14, but to report any changes. I thought it would be sensible now to end it, to save them sending awards out every year, but it's up to them then.
