Voluntary termination - quick question
Options
Hi all.
We voluntary terminated my wifes car finance, and the car was picked up today. The guy who came did an inspection on the car, and picked up some things that they say we need to pay for. My wife signed the inspection document as "disagreeing to the above".
The damage was:
bumper rear (scratched) £72
qtr panel near o/s (dented) £40
3x alloy wheel scuffed £165
The CCA says the car has to be in reasonable, clean condition. I read this as reasonable condition for its age. Its a 6 year old car, so would the above be concidered or arguable as reasonable wear and tear? The quarter panel dent was tiny by the way. A shopping trolley knock.
Thanks in advance.

Seems fair to me.
I would not say accident damage is fair wear and tear. Worn tyres, stone chips, slightly worn seats that sort of thing is wear and tear.0 -
Most common guide to use is the BVRLA wear and tear guide - google and you'll find a pdf to download..0

Thanks for the reply guys. The car was taken away, and we received a letter about 3 days later, saying that we have no further commitment to the car. We take that as being the end of it. So reasonable wear and tear extends past 3 years to allow a bit more wear and tear.Mortgage £242500 on completion
