Servicing: DIY or professional garage?

"I was reading through the service book the other night and noticed that despite it having FSH no one has ever replaced the brake fluid on it. Something that should be done every 2 years."

I've been driving/maintaining cars for best part of 40 years and never changed brake fluid unless I was replacing a component. Never had a problem and it's unnecessary to change it just for the sake of it imho.

I DIY it all...All my vehicles Lawnmowers to Tractors Old or newish it doesn't Matter. I keep the receipts and keep a log of what a vehicles had and when. All decent bits are used aswell often genuine as I wont entertain Chinese specials..

Strongly disagree!
Brake fluid absorbs moisture from the air over time, drastically reducing it's boiling point. Boiling brake fluid = no brakes.
It really has to be done ever 2 years for safety's sake!

+1, makes a noticeable difference when you overhaul the brakes and change the fluid :A
